My husband and I absolutely loved this course. I was extremely nervous about taking it being that I would be a very new shooter in amongst a bunch of guys who I imagined had been shooting all their lives; I hoped I hadn’t made a mistake agreeing to participate. My husband had already taken the course a few months prior but he registered again in order to do it with me. It ended up being a small group of guys who were all very safe, but fun-loving so I was comfortable in that environment. I learned a great deal and gained confidence in handling my pistol safely – goal achieved. I enjoyed the group dynamic and comradely immensely – bonus! There was really nothing I would have changed about that 2-day course and it left us wanting more. Onto Tactical 2 (and Carbine 1… and… and…) You get the idea ;)
Thank you Chad & Steve for offering these courses… you guys are awesome!!

  2. Addison says:

This course was fantastic! I learned a lot, and I know I walked out a better shooter, as well as a more confident one. Thanks a ton Chad for great, stress free instruction. I will be pushing some friends to take the course, and cannot wait for level 2!!!

  3. Wally F says:

Chad thanks for putting on the pistol clinic today. It was good shooting and some great teaching points. Last weeks TC1 course was fantastic as well, thank Dustin for me. Cheers!

Pistol 1 was a great course. As a novice shooter it taught me valuable pistol handling skills and increased my knowledge of safe handling practices.

    I would strongly recommend it.

I took the 2-day Tactical Pistol 1 and Holster Course from Shadowforce.ca in February 2012, instructed by Carl Ogg. The course covered all the basics that I was looking for and more. The instruction was excellent – a good mix of technical material, practical application, true-life examples of how (and how not) to do things, and lots of reinforcement of basics – all around a very good experience. The instruction method was sound – 1. Formal instruction; 2. Demonstration by instructor; 3. Application by each student; 4. Correction and further guidance for each individual as required; 5. Practice and more practice. The course was logically structured, starting with basic skills and then building on those. The instructor was very knowledgeable and confident. He demonstrated a lot of patience and skillful handling of student diversity, while maintaining control of the classroom, so that no one got left behind. I highly recommend this course.

And once again I gotta say I was deeply impressed with the quality of training from your organization. I aim to sign up for pistol 1 as soon as I’m done this whole starving student gig in April.

  7. Jesse says:

I recently had the privilege of attending the Tactical Pistol/Holster Certification course presented at Calgary Shooting Centre. As a relatively inexperienced shooter, I was very eager to improve my handling of the semiautomatic pistol as well as begin to develop a mindset that is suitable for a tactical environment.

I was very impressed with the ability of our Chief Instructor to present the course material in an engaging and challenging manner while injecting plenty of humour and leaving the floor open to active participation by students. I was further impressed by the level of care and attention that was afforded to the needs of individual students.

Following the course, I have seen a significant improvement in my handling, safety awareness, marksmanship, stance, and confidence.

I would like to extend my warmest gratitude to Carl Ogg and Chad English for their professionalism, warm welcome, and commitment to providing value for their students. I look forward to attending additional courses with Shadow Force in the future!

  8. Paul says:

I just wanted to drop a quick thank you again for the course this past weekend. I’ll admit I was not sure what I signed up for, and I was concerned about my skills (or lack there-of) before the course started.

The two of you made the whole weekend stress free, and I left with a lot of great notes and drills to review!

Thank you again for your professionalism, your knowledge, and most of all your attention for safety! I did not ever feel uncomfortable or concerned with anything presented, or requested during the entire course.

I would recommend this to anyone! I returned home with the type of “**** grin” that had my wife questioning if I was cheating on her!
